New Pro Cheer League: Athletes Can Make Cheer Their Job

📰 The news: Varsity has announced The Pro Cheer League, allowing athletes 18+ to pursue a professional cheerleading career for the first time ever. The announcement was made live at NCA College Nationals over the weekend.

🌟 Why it matters: This league can create opportunities for athletes to continue cheering after their “traditional cheer career” ends, offering elite athletes from top teams a chance to perform at the highest level. It currently looks like these Pro athletes/teams compete at existing events across America.

• Nissan’s Formula E team has teamed up with Top Gun TGLC to create Sakura Storm, the first-ever cheer squad in motorsport. The team will debut at the 2025 Miami E-Prix on May 2-4. Learn more.
